BRISTOL - Discount Tobacco sets itself apart from other stores with its dedication to excellent customer service.

Located at 123 Farmington Avenue in the Bristol Commons, Discount Tobacco has been serving the community since owner Arslan Khan opened the shop in 2009.

Discount Tobacco sells tobacco, vape, premium cigars and tobacco-related accessories, such as glass pipes, rolling machines, papers, cigarette filter tubes and cigar cutters.

Khan said he had previous experience in the tobacco industry: he has been selling tobacco for 20 years. He previously had a store in East Haven, but he decided to move to the local area with his family.

Khan said his business has been successful in Bristol. He even has regular customers who come in every day.

“They really love our services and our products,” Khan said.

Khan said his business is able to attract regular customers because of the excellent service his business provides.

“We treat our customers very well, irrespective of how much they’re spending. We treat everyone with respect, and that’s why they keep coming,” Khan said.

Khan said he has stayed in the tobacco business for so long because he enjoys meeting new people and catering to their demands. He said one of the ways he serves his customers is to be sure he offers them new products at the best possible price as soon as they are available.

“Every time new things come into the market, we offer it. So it’s a new adventure every day,” Khan said.

Discount Tobacco was awarded Best Smoke Shop in the Bristol Press Best of Bristol contest this year.

“[The ranking] shows the confidence of the customers in our store,” Khan said.
